evergreen; excellent for hot, dry conditions; moderate to fast growth
to 10 tall and wide; dwarf varieties to 4 tall and wide; easily
trained to single trunk tree; clusters of single or double flowers
bloom from May to October; many shades of reds, pinks, lavender and
white; not fussy about soil and can stand drought conditions; prune
regularly to control size; all parts of the plant are poisonous; use
as screens, windbreaks, borders or in containers; deer resistant. |
